U8 Developmental League

Our U8 developmental league is designed with the specific purpose of the continued development of your child’s soccer skills along with teaching POSITIVE character qualities in their still “young and impressionable lives”. This is a session for girls and boys who are specifically a U7 or U8 soccer player. To be in this program you must be born between August 1^st of 2003 and July 31^st of 2005.

This is an hour and a half long session. The first 55 minutes will be spent working on individual technique specifically in the areas of deceptive moves, passing, shooting and 1v1 play. Coordination, agility and juggling will also be focused on. The last 30 minutes we will divide the kids up each week to play 4v4 or 5v5, depending on our numbers. The U8 Developmental League takes place on Saturday mornings from 9:30-11:00am.

Dad and mom; I like parents to be involved in this class. I want you to be out on the field with your child, listening and observing how I teach a particular skill, so that you in turn can help your child practice and repeat the skill at home, BUT most importantly I want you to observe and make sure they are practicing the skill CORRECTLY. Remember: perfect practice makes perfect.

These kids are at a very important age in soccer and that’s why we have this program designed for JUST this age group. Also Dad and Mom, I will need some of you to help each week when we divide up to play, so I will be asking for volunteers.
