Riverfront Developmental Program – Ages 7-16
Riverfront Developmental Program is designed for children ages 7-14 years old. We are dedicated to providing excellent soccer training for children of all abilities. Dany O’Rourke directs the sessions by providing challenging activities that will help young soccer players build confidence and develop their soccer skills through consistent and dedicated training. Class size is limited so register early.
Riverfront’s Development Program will have a new look this year!
For the first 45 minutes of class we will continue to do our basic fundamental soccer drills to try and give our players the basic tools to be successful. The last 45 minutes of class will be game situations in a 4v4 environment. It is my belief that soccer players start to develop a little faster doing this as it gives them the opportunity to play in a real game setting while getting more touches on the ball.
From Dublin, Ireland Dany began his playing career at a local soccer club Dundrum FC. Here Dany won two league titles before moving to the biggest club in Dublin, St. Joseph Boys AFC. For the rest of his travel career Dany played here earning various different honors. Dany got his first taste of professional soccer having had tryouts for the national team and training with Shelbourne FC. He played in Irelands lower leagues as a semi professional for Arklow Town, Cherry Orchard and St. Patricks.
In 2010 O’Rourke moved to the US playing his college soccer at Keystone College. A four-year starting captain, O’Rourke brought Keystone to the post season three times earning various awards from Academic honors to the Shalyn-Truscot Award in his senior year. Looking to start his career in coaching, Dany moved to Frostburg, Maryland where he worked with both the men’s and women’s soccer programs. Earning his master’s degree O’Rourke also won his first conference championship, the CAC in 2015.
